You are listening to: Susan Boyle singing "How Great Tho Art"

An interesting bit of information ....

"How Great Thou Art?" Originally written as 'O Store Gud', it was written in 1886 by Pastor Carl Boberg. Seems he was caught in a midday thunderstorm during which there were many awe inspiring moments of flashing lightening. This was immediately followed by a clear brilliant sun, then the sound of calm sweet songs of the birds in nearby trees. This experience prompted the pastor to fall to his knees in 'humble adoration' of his Mighty God. He later wrote a 9 stanza poem. It was many years later, in 1925, while attending a conference that a friend of his put it to music. It was translated from Swedish to German, then English, then Russian where three verses were added. The fourth verse came after WW II. The hymn was made famous by George Beverly Shea during the Bill Graham Crusade in London.
